About

Arctica Invest is an independent initiative exploring the financial architecture of climate risk reduction.

Modern financial systems have become increasingly effective at pricing, transferring, and absorbing climate risk. Yet directing institutional capital toward measurable reductions in physical climate risk remains a far more difficult challenge.

Arctica Invest was established to investigate the institutional, contractual, and financial structures that could enable investment in climate risk reduction at scale. Its work examines how insurers, governments, infrastructure owners, investors, and other stakeholders might participate in financial architectures that reward measurable reductions in future climate losses.

The initiative builds upon the research published by Arctica Risk, extending the analysis of climate risk transfer toward the design of financial systems capable of financing climate prevention.

Rather than asking how climate risk should be distributed after it exists, Arctica Invest asks a different question: How should financial systems be designed to reward its reduction?
